Ras Mohammed sits at the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. It was declared a protected area in 1983, making it Egypt's first national park. It covers about 480 km², roughly 345 km² of which is water, with the Gulf of Suez to the west and the Gulf of Aqaba to the east.
The park is home to more than 1,000 fish species and over 220 coral species. Its best-known spots include Shark Reef and Yolanda Reef, a small mangrove channel, the earthquake cracks and the Magic Lake. Al Yasmine picks you up from your hotel and brings you back in an air-conditioned car with a driver who knows the route and the stops.
